Anyway, one of the things the article talks about is the up and coming craft beer scene. I happen to think it's the up and coming food scene. There are so many great places to eat here! And there are plenty of awesome chefs that have restaurants here. I'm not a million percent sure who owns this next one, but it is definitely a great place to go.
There are two locations; one is in the Summit off Highway 280 and the other one is in downtown Homewood. They're just a little sandwich/soup/salad joint, but their chicken salad was fantastic. Added bonus? They sell those craft beers Birmingham is becoming famous.
Their chipotle braised pork sandwich and half-baked cookie is on the list of 100 things to eat in Alabama. I didn't try it, but that half-baked cookie thing? Definitely on the list for next time.
And since it's my birthday? Maybe a special trip for one!
