Ghost

29.9.11

Oh my gosh! I think I just saw a ghost!

No wait. That's just LC's blog...

I apologize for being so out of pocket. I have had much going on lately between bar outings with my boss man, kickball (which I have been seriously neglecting), dance competition practice (whoop!), Halloween decorating (there are pics for later!), gym times, work and life in general.

This is so me. Except I would be wearing pajamas. With no makeup. And I don't think I have a $5000 anything in my house.

Cuteness. I would cuddle with him. For reals.

I promise I will be back with real life pictures and stories. Once I get 8 hours of sleep in a row.

TV Got In The Way

20.9.11

It's fall TV Season, and I couldn't be happier! I am so happy when re-runs stop being the norm, and there are all sorts of new shows to watch and old ones to catch up on.

Of course, there's Dancing with the Stars...

And what I really mean by Dancing with the Stars is the return of Maks! I want him to win this year so badly! I wonder what I would have to do to become a semi celebrity to get on this show? Date George Clooney? Have a sex-change operation? Reality star? Blast. I guess I have a long way to go before being a cast member of DWTS! Oh Maks...

I talked hubs into giving "2 Broke Girls" a chance last night! And it was surprisingly pretty funny. Hubs gives it a season...but a season where I will watch every single episode! I absolutely adore that girl's deep red lipstick, and how it doesn't come off when she kisses her boy in the show. Seriously. How am I the only girl in the world that can't find lipstick that truly doesn't move?

I honestly can't wait to find out who Ted marries. It is killing me! I want to know!! And I want to be Robin. She's so gorgeous.

Big Bang = my favorite. Bazinga!

So. Excited. That is all.

I'm such a TV junkie. I could go on and on (Glee, Grey's Anatomy, Biggest Loser), but I won't. I watch too much TV. Takes away from my blogging time.

What is everyone else watching this fall?!

Just Along for the Ride

11.9.11

All in all, this weekend has been pretty relaxing. I still haven't returned that two week overdue book (d'oh!), but I'm assuming that will happen soon.

Maybe tomorrow.

Maybe not.

I like when there is a weekend of nothingness. Especially when the weather is beautiful, and we can go to the trail and walk the dog.

Or ride our bikes.

And of course, people watch.

Saturday was, of course Auburn football day (that's all I promise! well, except we won...woop!), then followed by sleeping on the floor with the dog? I don't know why we even put the pillows down there. My back was killing me today. But I pretty much look forward to Saturdays during football season, because I get Chick-fil-a for breakfast, which as quick become a tradition since we did it for every game last year, and *clearing throat* we won the national championship.

Sunday started out with a 10 mile bike ride in 21st gear (ouch!), followed by frozen margaritas, sunbathing and Cam Newton. That's right! Can't get my fix on Saturdays anymore, so I'll take him on Sundays. Except next Sunday when they play the Packers! (Ok, done, I swear with the football!)

I needed this relaxing weekend after this past week. I didn't have a very good recruiting week, and it seemed like so many things went wrong. I have decided (for good) to give up my dancing. It seems that I continuously disappoint my instructor, and I hate disappointing anyone. And as soon as cosmetology school starts next month, I don't think there will be much time for it anyway. It really stung a lot to see how little I meant to my instructor...

Thank goodness for frozen drinks and sunshine! They definitely got me through this week..

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Packers Hotness

8.9.11

Ok, so yes, I am a girl. Yes, I loooooove football. BUT. I am still a girl, so for your viewing pleasure, here is some of the hotness that is the Packers team

You are welcome.

Sam Shields. Look at that baby face! Oi.

These boys definitely make watching football even better. Weren't a Packers fan before? Bet you are now!!

Go Pack Go!

(I promise this is my last post about football for the week)

Wednesday Ramblings

7.9.11

  • I had to find out through a friend that I talk to maybe once every 4-5 months that my best friend from high school is engaged. She was in my wedding. That was the last time I ever talked to her. I'm not going to lie when I say that stung quite a bit.
  • Ever since Tropical Storm Lee decided to dump his rain here on Bham, it's been quite pleasant outside. Like no hotter than 71 degrees. It is perfect weather for soup, grilled cheese and a night in with Bridget Jones.
  • Tomorrow is wear your jersey/t-shirt day at work. I am so excited to wear my Aaron Rodgers jersey. Why you may ask? Umm, Saints vs. Packers tomorrow night!
  • Okay, I know that for a girl, I get way more excited about football than I should, but what can I say? My dad wanted a boy....
  • I've really been slacking on the running lately. I think I'm giving up my dream of the half-marathon and am going to focus on work and getting ready for cosmetology school.
  • I saw the most adorable pair of boots at DSW. Good thing I have a $10 off coupon! Shopping this weekend!
  • Oh and please let me know if looking like this will ever be possible....because I'm ready...

Maybe in a couple of months, my hair will grow out to this...and in a few weeks, I'm hoping to be this blonde!

Gorg dress. Like it needs to find its way into my closet pronto!

Hope everyone's had a great Wednesday!

Hair Cut!!

6.9.11

I finally did it. After months and months of debating about whether or not to do it, I did. Well, without further ado....

Hi hi short hair!! Short hair that's going to be blonde in about 2 weeks! Woop! I start cosmetology school in less than a month, so I figured a new hair-do was in the works. Plus, my hair dresser is absolutely amazing, and whether she knows it or not, is going to be my mentor.

Tropical Storm Lee pretty much ruined our entire Labor Day weekend, so we spent most of it indoors, drinking and watching TV, which is not a terrible way to spend a holiday.

We drove down to the Loveliest Village on the Plains for Auburn's first football game of the year. While it was a seriously close call, Auburn did pull out their first win over Utah State 42-38. I'm sorry there are no pictures. I was too busy almost having a heart attack.

I hope everyone else had a great Labor Day full of no rain and maybe a hamburger or two. I promise these posts will start to have more substance soon. I've had a lot going on, so just bear with me for a few more days.

First Day of Football!!

1.9.11

College football officially begins today! I believe that being Southern means a whole lot more than saying y'all and wearing pearls.

I believe it's fervently supporting your team...(check out these amazing adorable dresses for gameday! I had to shamelessly plug Blue Door Boutique again, because I'm in love with them)

whether your team is winning or losing. I believe it takes a classy southern girl to offer a girl from another school a safety pin or extra sandal because her strap broke on hers.

I believe it's not booing the opponent's team, or drinking so much that you make your date (or anyone else around you) uncomfortable . I like to call it the "happy place!" where you're just a little buzzed, but not completely gone.

I believe it's knowing all the words to the fight song and all the cheers and yelling them proudly at the top of your lungs whether you're five or ninety-five.
And last but not least....the Auburn Creed...

THE AUBURN CREED

I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work. I believe in education, which gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and my hands to work skillfully. I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men. I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities. I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all. I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all. I believe in my Country, because it is a land of freedom and because it is my own home, and that I can best serve that country by "doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God." And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it. -George Petrie (1945)

So here's to a great football season! I'm way too excited for any normal human being!!
