How to Have the Best Brunch Ever

2.4.14

This weekend, we had the most amazing brunch.

And go figure!  It was all homemade.

Now, I really like going out for brunch all Sex and the City style, but sometimes, it's really nice to just open up the windows, turn on some jazz music and enjoy something that you made.

Sunday started out pretty normal; TV in bed (so upset that our fave weather girl Harmony wasn't on), drifting in and out of sleep, then a sudden idea!  Brunch!  Homemade brunch!

Yes!  Let's do this!

So off to to Publix -- we had this grand idea of doing Huevos Rancheros since I had had a disappointing plate of them on Friday for lunch, but the avocados were not ripe enough.

So what else, we thought, as we were standing right to the seafood.

Then it hit me!  Shrimp N Grits!  But not any kind of Shrimp N Grits!  White cheddar cheese grits and add bacon please!

We already had the grits at home, and I will openly admit that yes, indeed, they were Instant Grits.  I always get the Cabot extra sharp white cheddar -- threw about a cup of that all shredded in it.   Then cooked bacon; the good kind.  The non-turkey kind!  Threw in the shrimp, poured everything into a bowl, and voila! Instant delicious brunch at home.

We also added mimosas to the mix, but opted for cheap champagne, because let's be honest folks, can you really tell the difference in champagne if you're just going to throw orange juice in it anyway?

Oh, and as if Publix wasn't already awesome enough, they have a small bundle of roses always for $4.  They went perfectly on the table for this brunch.

Hope y'all get a little inspiration and try to have an awesome brunch at home this weekend!
