This week has been quite literally the week from hell. It seems that I can't do anything right at work, and then I break my phone while running on the treadmill, and have a rolling pin fall on my head when I open the refrigerator door. I wish I could tell you how good that felt.
So when I say this week was bad, just believe me. The only thing I'm looking forward to is 5pm tomorrow when I am done with this hell week, and will be spending the next three days in Austin. The only quote I can think of to keep me going through the week is "You were given this life because you were strong enough to live it,". Posted on my desk . Look at every day.
Because it is completely necessary.
But every weekend needs a Bloody Mary; whether you're having it with Sunday morning brunch, or just for the hell of it on a Saturday afternoon. At 3. (Can I just tell you how hard it is after almost two years in transportation to not write 1500? I swear it's a disease). Anyway onto the most tried and true recipe we have for the best Bloody Mary on Earth.
Perfect Bloody Mary
- 64 oz V8
- 1/4 cup Worchestershire
- 1/8 cup hot sauce
- 1/8 cup juice from pickled jalapenos (not hard, you can get the japs from Target)
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp celery seed
- 5 anchovies (yep! delish!)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup vinegar
Blend all these together and add celery stalk to garnish
Look. We are pretty much Bloody aficionados, and we've tried every possible combination of spices, juices and what have you. And I promise, if you follow this, it will taste like you are spending your weekend in New Orleans.
Which is never a bad idea.
But for this weekend, I'm headed to Austin to enjoy my country music; gigantic doughnuts and monster amounts of alcoholic beverages.
