Hotel Savoy

30.7.12

B loves anthony bourdain.  and he does his research for every where we go.  he likes unique places and food.  he will try anything once.  he even tried carla's beet pickled eggs.  or something like that.  only brave souls....which included b and my dad.  i only eat purple food if it's highly enriched with sugar and/or corn syrup.

so, when he found out that we were going to KC, he knew that we were going to have to go to the Savoy Grille in downtown Kansas City, MO.  it's attached to the Hotel Savoy, both of which were beautiful and old, with great features.

we decided to pop in after our morning of museums for a quick lunch.

The old antiquey bar.

Seafood gumbo!!

B had the seafood sampler.

It used to be a residential hotel; I loved all the mailbox slots.

Beautiful stained glass dome.

Front desk of the hotel.
even walking into the hotel smelled just a little musty.  off to the left side of this seating area where a bunch of tables where one could only have assumed a wedding was about to take place.

it was just so gorgeous, and we got to introduce my dad and c to a place they had never been before.
