every once in a while, Birmingham will host an event that's out of its cool range. Birmingham isn't known for it's progressiveness; in fact, if anything, it could probably go the other way.
Most people don't want modern and/or weird infiltrating the perfect Southern appearance. In an effort to keep Birmingham out of modern times, they have banned food trucks unless you have a building. And to make matters worse, current business owners are upset about the food trucks taking their business. Instead of them being happy about bringing new business ventures to Birmingham, they are angry and selfish. It's infuriating.
Trust me; a blasted taco stand or two won't take your upscale business. Guaranteed those people eating at that taco stand can't afford your $50 steak anyway.
Now that I have that off my chest, Birmingham had a fun food truck festival, Trucks by the Tracks, in downtown Birmingham at Railroad Park.
The line for Tacos Dos Hermanos was definitely the longest there. Yes, we definitely waited twenty minutes in line and probably another 15 waiting on the food, but oh it was so worth it.
And that poor cupcake. What a great picture of the grass! We were walking, and I wanted a picture of it, so I said, stop! And we stopped, but apparently he didn't stop moving. And I couldn't wait one more minute to tear into that thing.
It was a strawberry fields forever cupcake made by Dreamcakes. They have the best cupcakes in the world!!
There were thousands of people at this event. I only wish the lawmakers of Birmingham were there to see it; maybe they would put a stop to all their food truck hating.
