Restaurant Review :: Sugar's (Chattanooga)

17.5.11

We got to Chattanooga on Saturday just in time for lunch. My dance instructor told me about this place called Sugar's. It promised both bourbon and BBQ, so we were there! (after a brief walk in the rain, where Lindsey got splashed by a car).

The bourbon! They have happy hour from 11-7. Talk about happy hour!

They had so many bourbons there, and a different one to shoot everyday (of course except for Friday when we there). Only $2!

They had 7 (or 8?) different kinds of BBQ sauce, ranging from mild and thick, to you'll be feeling this 20 mins later when you run your tongue across your lips like an idiot. I was feeling a bit adventurous.

Pork butt sandwich. With potato salad...before the dousing of the BBQ sauce. This place didn't own a fryer. They grill everything they offer as sides, including okra.

Lindsey's lunch. She got a taco and a mini-q. You can't see it, but she did get the grilled okra, and she loved it.

Rockin' Rita! Our bartender was not stingy on the first drink by any means, so we decided to girl it up for the second drink.

Easy, simple decor. Except for the backsplash of the bar, which I wish I had a picture of. A rose in a rocks glass? I can do that!

I really thought that this was going to be all tourist-y, but it really wasn't. It was lunch time on a Friday, and we were one one of five tables in there. The bartender informed us that they have live blues music on Friday and Saturday nights as well.

The bbq was delicious, as were the bourbon drinks. Two thumbs up from this girl!
