I can't say I was feeling my absolute best on Sunday. I was craving a bagel really bad, but by the time we finally got our butts out of bed, it was already 1030, and we were supposed to meet Lindsey and JM for lunch at 11. Unfortunately the place we were going to eat, Parkway Bakery, was closed.
And we couldn't find parking to save our lives, so we went to another place for Brunch. More on that later, but moral of the story was, we couldn't find our way back to quarter after eating. So we went uptown to where B had heard of a Second Line starting at the Maple Leaf Bar. And y'all, this was true Second Line. It had five stop-offs at bars to gather a larger crowd; we bought a Sunny D and vodka from a street vendor, a Corona and a $1 Jell-O shot that would knock you on your ass.
We only made it to one of the stops; it was hot, and I really wasn't feeling all that well. So we hit up the daiquiri shop, and followed the river.
We ended up in a park area, with a closed down pier, that just happened to be a pretty perfect place to take some pictures. Please excuse my outfit; I never claimed to be a fashionista.
We enjoyed the clouds and soft wind as we just sat and enjoyed the time before we had to leave. Unfortunately, it had to come to an end. We enjoyed the rest of our daiquiri on the drive to the airport, as it just started to rain.
We know clouds; we felt the same.
