Halloween 2011

31.10.11

I love Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays (next to New Year's and of course, Christmas!). But I love being scared. I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and I love dressing up! Seriously, what is there not to love about this holiday?

Last night the hubs and I went to a friends' house for Cookout & Costumes. Plus got to watch the Auburn game (Yay! War Eagle! Thanks for beating Ole Miss!). We filled up on snacks, hot dogs and grilled chicken, with a few adult beverages, but decided that the night wasn't, or at least, shouldn't be over.

The girls went out. The girls went out hard. I mean, ending up at Al's at 3 am, then checking into the Embassy Suites? Yes. That, my friends, is how you do it hard.

So our plans for this Halloween Eve? Watching Halloween and eating pizza, of course!! There is absolutely nothing better than a scary movie and pizza. Even though I'm hungry right now, and I have to at least wait until it gets dark.... but I am excited for the pizza.

I will leave you all with a simple, but delicious, Halloween treat. Dirt Cake! I haven't had this since probably the 3rd grade, and it had worms (Publix, you let me down with your non-selection of gummi worms), but it is still delicious regardless! Enjoy!

What You Need:
* 1 large package Oreos
* 8 oz package cream cheese
* 1/2 cup butter
* 1 cup powdered sugar
* 12 oz whipped cream
* 2 small packages of instant French Vanilla pudding mix
* 2 cups milk
* 1 tsp vanilla

* Crush cookies and spread 1/2 of the crumbs in the bottom of a 9x13" pan.

* Mix the cream cheese and margarine until smooth. Mix in powdered sugar. Fold in the Cool Whip.

* In a separate bowl, mix the pudding, milk and vanilla; then fold this into the cream cheese mixture.

* Pour combined filling mixture over cookie crumbs in pan; sprinkle rest of cookie crumbs over the top. Serve frozen or chilled.

Happy Halloween!

*Check it...I'm a scary black cat...* Bonus points if you can tell me where this is from!

Kisses

23.10.11

I know this may seem like the weirdest topic for a blog post, but kisses really are the greatest thing known to man.

They can mean so many things: I love you. I want you. I am so happy to see you. I'm going to miss you. Please don't go. I'm so glad you're home! I absolutely love coming home and getting kisses from my Stella. I love puppy kisses!

And just kissing isn't enough. They have to be good kisses. Everyone knows that the second kiss is better than the first. I think there's a song that talks about the first long kiss on a second date. I think it's Tim McGraw, but I can't be too sure. I can tell you right now that I would much rather sit on the couch all day and kiss than do *ahem*....other stuff.

I'm going to try to string along more blog posts this week. I've been sort of upset lately, and the blog has been the one thing that I could give up that would give me some more time in the day.

I'm obsessed...

17.10.11

Okay. I know. I have been a terrible blogger. I even got harassed by the husband, so you know it's bad.

A couple weeks ago we went to Atlanta. To do what you may ask?

To see the Packers! Ugh, I know. But the chance to see Aaron Rodgers in the flesh? I'll take it. And get this. I found out that his little brother is the quarterback at Vanderbilt. Which is in Nashville. Which is only 3 hours away. And my total in to the Rodgers family.

Umm...kidding. Maybe.

Anyway!! We made the short 2 1/2 trip to the Georgia Dome to see my favorite NFL team. We were only 20 some odd rows up in the end zone. We also went to a great little Irish place that claimed it had the best fish and chips in Atlanta. I'm not sure what other places have them, but they were so good, I really forgot to take the picture.

But enjoy the pictures that I did take!! And I hope that y'all are doing well! I have missed the little bloggy world!!
I am starting to seriously hate the hair. I miss the long-ness.

The fish 'n chips place. Yums.

Clay Matthews' booty. #52 in case you were wondering.

The boys.

There they are again!

And again.

They are now 6-0. Take that Chicago!

Camping Fun

5.10.11

So two weekends ago, hubsy and I packed up the dog and the tent and went up to Mt. Cheaha in northeast (well sort of central-east) Alabama.

It is the highest point in Alabama at a whopping 2700-some odd feet. But it was gorgeous up there. And the Stell-dog seriously loved her some outdoor time. It was fun to put up the tent, and believe it or not, we had the whole semi-primitive circle to ourselves.

It was filled with a fun day of hiking to waterfalls, listening to AU football on the radio (come on now... you had to know that was coming), cooking hot dogs, and burning marshmallows to make s'mores.

So here is a little known fact about moi.

I am deathly afraid of the dark. And deathly afraid of things that the dark brings. Like bears. And serial killers. The more I thought about it, the more I thought how easy it would be for a killer to be hiding in the woods at a campsite to kill people. Trust me, I psyched myself out, and actually convinced myself there was a killer in the woods.

But there wasn't. And we all survived. Here are some pics from the trip...

Best part of all...I saw two shooting stars...
