Another Wedding in Mobile

17.7.13

This past weekend was spent yet again at another wedding.  Third one this year.  All these girls wanting to be summer brides.  And trying to get their weddings out of the way before football season.  Getting married during football season means one of two things:  A . You don't care about college football (um, which is weird) or B.  You don't want anyone to show up at your wedding.

This time it was B's cousin, Julia getting married.  It was a little church wedding at a beautiful church, and then to the Fairhope Yacht Club for the reception.  It was really nice getting to talk to B's extended family, and to have a nice weekend away.

Julia most certainly did it up for her wedding; she's one of those girls that's just naturally tiny, and her wedding gown was gorgeous!  And the one thing that I admire about her wedding was that she just wanted people to have a good time.  I'd never seen sunglasses or glow necklaces distributed, but she sure did both.  Even the older crew was getting into it.

I don't know the couple that well, but I wish them only the best.

Now that's out of the way; I'm done with weddings.  I feel like I've done my duty this year with all the weddings, so you're welcome everybody.

Please.  No more.

Jessica & Olaf's Wedding

2.7.13

We spent this past weekend in Auburn at a wedding.  It was a really sweet wedding between someone that B has known for a quite a while; college roommate, and is now my co-worker.  I don't see or talk much to him, but it was a sweet wedding.

It was held in the small Auburn Chapel, and then their reception was at Brownfield House in Opelika.  It was a very small ceremony, and we were glad they chose us to be a part of it.

Plus they had these tiny BLT's that were amazing, and candy imported from Iceland, where Olaf's family is from.  Such a cute idea. AND, a vodka fountain.  Yes folks, a vodka fountain.  They provided the cranberry juice and orange juice, and then you dipped your cup into the pouring vodka. See below for the picture.

It was a sweet and very personal wedding; there were touches of the couple throughout.  Happy wedding season...two down, one to go!!

I want a Do-over!

26.7.11

It is no secret to anyone that I love sweets. I mean, how can someone not like sweets. So while I've been getting into this Pinterest thing, I came across some pretty sweet ass wedding cakes. And I thought to myself, I really didn't do it up that big for my wedding cake (in real life, I'm quite the simple girl), so what kind of wedding cake would I have if I could do it all over? I'm so glad you asked....

A row of cascading yellow flowers? Yes please! I love the simplicity of the white cake with the scattered flowers. Gorgeous!

The ombre and the orange? Do I even need to explain why this cake is amazing? Didn't think so...

A sweet white cake, on a simple wooden stand...but wait what's that? A sweet flag banner on top? Such a creative idea!!

I don't think wedding cakes get any more gorgeous. This would have fit perfectly white my black, white, and pink themed wedding. Wish I would have thought of it!!

I love the super boldness of the one black layer with the single orange rose on top. I think this would be beautiful for a fall wedding...or a wedding some day around Halloween!

So out of the few things that I would change out of my wedding day, I think I should have done up the cake a little more. I mean, my cake was beautiful, and it tasted awesome, (you know that top layer you're supposed to eat a year later? we ate every last bit of it!), I think it could have been a little more dressed up. How about those of you guys that are married? Would you re-do your cake? Or how about those that think they want to get married? Any of these cakes look good to you?
