Chop Chop

This past Saturday, I realized that in just three short weeks I turn 30.

Yes, 30.

I have been dreading this birthday for a long time, and I'm not really sure why.  It's honestly just another day, and since I've started running again, I'm starting to feel better.

So why, oh why does turning thirty scare the bejesus out of me?  

And I guess it's even scarier, because I can't answer why it scares me.  Could be that I'm thirty, and all I have to show for it is a career in transportation?  Although, the job I'm at right now is completely fulfilling, and I for once, love the company I work for.  Could be that I'm thirty, and I don't have kids, while everyone around me is throwing up their pictures of their dogs all like, "I can't wait for my baby brother to get here!"  Maybe even the scariest part about that is, I don't know if I want to have kids.  

Maybe I'm not where I want to be financially (not even close), or where I want to be geographically (again, not even close).  But I couldn't tell you.  Quarter-life crisis?  Yep, in full swing.  

So that's when this happens... bye bye hair!  

Yep, I'm a very cliche kind of girl.

When the going gets tough, a girl cuts her hair.  And to be honest, I haven't cried about it at all.  It feels so much better to not have all that hair on my head.

Anyway, I'm hitting NOLA for the big day, so that should alleviate a lot of my concerns!

Red Hair Bang

A couple weekends ago, I decided to go really really redhead.

And I freaking love it.

It's something I've always wanted to do, and just decided that since I really didn't want to have brown hair again, and since my hair dresser refuses to do blonde anymore, that maybe I should just go all out and go super red.

So I did.

I've always been one to want to stick out.

Hair color wise.

And I'm super in love with and think I'm going to keep it for awhile.

New Stuff for Sunday

You may notice that things have changed a little bit around here.  Thanks to Sophie & Rory for putting this together.  She did a fantastic job, and I couldn't have asked for more.

Couple of other new things for the weekend.

New hair!  Red!  And Bangs!!  Nose job next on the list.  Ugh, I hate that thing.  Self-deprecation is kind of my thing, so don't steal it from me.

Aaaand, B finally hung up his anniversary present!!  It looks so great on our wall in our dining room!  Now all we need is more wine.  Hmm, that doesn't really sound like a problem at all.

Wednesday Ramblings

• I had to find out through a friend that I talk to maybe once every 4-5 months that my best friend from high school is engaged. She was in my wedding. That was the last time I ever talked to her. I'm not going to lie when I say that stung quite a bit.
• Ever since Tropical Storm Lee decided to dump his rain here on Bham, it's been quite pleasant outside. Like no hotter than 71 degrees. It is perfect weather for soup, grilled cheese and a night in with Bridget Jones.
  
• Tomorrow is wear your jersey/t-shirt day at work. I am so excited to wear my Aaron Rodgers jersey. Why you may ask? Umm, Saints vs. Packers tomorrow night!
• Okay, I know that for a girl, I get way more excited about football than I should, but what can I say? My dad wanted a boy....
• I've really been slacking on the running lately. I think I'm giving up my dream of the half-marathon and am going to focus on work and getting ready for cosmetology school.
• I saw the most adorable pair of boots at DSW. Good thing I have a $10 off coupon! Shopping this weekend!
• Oh and please let me know if looking like this will ever be possible....because I'm ready...

Hair Cut!!

I finally did it. After months and months of debating about whether or not to do it, I did. Well, without further ado....

Hi hi short hair!! Short hair that's going to be blonde in about 2 weeks! Woop! I start cosmetology school in less than a month, so I figured a new hair-do was in the works. Plus, my hair dresser is absolutely amazing, and whether she knows it or not, is going to be my mentor.

Tropical Storm Lee pretty much ruined our entire Labor Day weekend, so we spent most of it indoors, drinking and watching TV, which is not a terrible way to spend a holiday.

We drove down to the Loveliest Village on the Plains for Auburn's first football game of the year. While it was a seriously close call, Auburn did pull out their first win over Utah State 42-38. I'm sorry there are no pictures. I was too busy almost having a heart attack.

I hope everyone else had a great Labor Day full of no rain and maybe a hamburger or two. I promise these posts will start to have more substance soon. I've had a lot going on, so just bear with me for a few more days.

New Dresser...New Hair?

I have decided to cut my hair. And I'm going to do it Vegas still while we're out there. The mother-in-law and I have appointments, and I'm so excited about it!

I can't wait to chop all of this hair off! I feel that I have had the same hair style for a good part of my twenties, and I'm slowly inching toward my 30s. So, I've picked three pictures from which to choose.

I love Chelsea Kane's hair! I have fallen in love with this girl since watching Dancing with the Stars. She is a fantastic dancer and super cute! I'm not sure if I can pull this off though. She's got a sweet little face with a little nose, not the big schnozz I was blessed with.

I love this cut so much, but worry a little that it's too short. I mean it looks cute on her, but she can get extensions any ole time she wants.



This is my front runner so far. Mind you when I cut my hair, it will be around 8 inches no matter which I choose. I'm a little nervous about it right now, but with all these things going on in my life right now that I can't figure out, a new cut can't hurt.
