Day 15

1.1.11

another good thing about this challenge is that it allows me to practice on my post-processing. this picture is obviously post-processed. the colors are so vibrant that it makes me smile. the martini glasses do have that color to them, but they don't look as bright as such in the original picture. but i figure, hey, as long as i'm taking the picture and making it look how i want, it counts.

and in the honor of new years, i have a few resolutions:

1. finally start eating healthy. i work out, and i do ballroom dance, but then ruin it with cheese dip or something equally as delicious.

2. stop letting the little things get to me. rude/angry customers at work; being so busy at work that i don't have time to come home and kiss my husband; trying to change people's minds about things; trying to make things happen that never will; worrying if i can please everyone. i am done with all that.

3. i am done with thinking that i am fat. it consumes so much of my time and energy that i'm done with it. i just am. i'm going to start a jar and for everytime that i say i'm fat or ask bennett if i'm fat, in goes a quarter. i figure this should work, because, well it worked when i had to stop sucking my thumb.

4. i will run a 10k this year, in preparation for the mercedes half marathon in 2012. i can do this.

5. i will see my parents more than twice a year (each, because they are divorced).

that's what i've got for this year....of course, all easier said than done. we'll see how it goes.

Happy New Year (Day 13 & 14)

so it's another new year. 2010 went by really fast. it was a good year for the most part. i've learned a lot about myself. i've learned new hobbies (photography, baking, ballroom dancing), and i've had a pretty good time with all of them. so i guess there's only more to look forward to in 2011. i hope everyone had a great new years and got a big sloppy kiss at midnight!
this was the view out of the window at work, hence the awesome reflection of that flourescent lighting. you can even sort of see the desk i sat at all week while the other manager was gone.

champagne for new years! those are our wedding champagne flutes... we figure nye will be the only opportunity to ever use these things....

Day 12

29.12.10

so this is day 12. i'm starting to realize that i lead a very boring life, seeing as how i get to work before the sun comes up and am home when the sun goes down. and every other picture besides when i was in new york is of objects around the house. i mean, candy buttons? such is my life. i'm gonna say that it gives me the opportunity to practice on mundane things before trying to shoot really important things. i often look at other photographer's websites and other bloggers pictures and wonder if i will ever be as good or as interesting as these other people. i read this other blog, http://littlebeachbum.wordpress.com, and she lived in miami for her contract job, and now is up and leaving for montana for another job. she just looks like she has an incredible life and sometimes i get incredibly jealous, plus she's a fantastic photographer and beautiful to boot.

this is a kissing crystal with mistletoe. apparently whoever kisses under it is promised strength, love blah blah.
